Jan Troskie, a mechanical designer with a passion for flying well designed aircraft is the man behind Ravin Aircraft and the Ravin 500. Over 3 decades, He's flown most types of aircraft including ultra lights and RC Models. Eventually, he obtained a Piper Comanche 260C Shark Nose and rebuilt it to pristine condition. During his 8 years as owner, he, like many others, came to appreciate this aircraft for all its excellent qualities and superior performance.
He then decided to take a great design and a great aircraft and make it even better and so began Ravin Aircraft and the Ravin 500 was born.
The Ravin 500 is an all composite kit aircraft from Ravin Aircraft for amateur construction with over 16 Ravin 500 kits flying today and over 22 Ravin 500 kits out. The Ravin 500 made it's first flight on
September 15th, 2002. Ravin 300, fix gear, fix pitch flew in January 2007. Ravin Aircraft is excited to introduce you to the Ravin 500. it is the world's fastest aircraft in it's class along with the largest range and useful load.
